All Saints Catholic School offers several clubs that enrich the educational experience of our students.
The Debate Team provides students in grades 4-8 the opportunity to learn the orderly process of policy debate, and to use these skills to compete in tournaments in northeastern Oklahoma governed by the National Speech and Debate Association. On average, the team competes in 8-9 tournaments per year. Students learn how to research domestic and foreign policies, and how to argue cases on the affirmative and negative sides. Debate skills and research techniques are valuable life skills.
The Speech Team welcomes students in grades 4-8. Students select published pieces in the categories of Standard Oratory, Humorous and Serious Prose, Humorous and Serious Poetry, Humorous and Dramatic Interpretation, and Monologue. Students are also offered the opportunity to write and perform an original oratory. Dramatic and Humorous Duet Acting is also offered to those wanting to work with a partner. On average, the team competes in 8-9 tournaments per year. Public speaking teaches students confidence, poise, and creativity, and is a skill that will be used in all areas of life.
Students in grades 2-8 meet each Friday to play chess. The All Saints Chess Club provides students the opportunity to learn and enjoy chess while experiencing healthy competition. Playing chess develops critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, and competitive maturity.
